Looking for a fun way to get rid of our old pool ... chemically..?

Just bought my family a nice new pool, one that will come complete with beautiful wood deck and everything, but want to give them something frighting to wake up to the morning before I reveal the purchase... I want to know what I can do to make it look like either the chemicals or something else destroyed the old plastic liner pool inflatable tube pool, other than being caused by me. I'm picturing big holes melted into the plastic and water gushing out, just so they can freak out a little before I reveal to them a pleasant surprise for the summer... Any good ideas on what chemical I could add? Or any other ideas I'm interested...
