Why do yahoo liberals care so much about Sarah Palin?

The reason the media focuses so much on Palin is that she is guaranteed to give them a news story. She's like Lindsey Lohan or Kim Kardashian, she's famous for doing and saying stupid things. I have to agree that because of Palin constantly being in the spotlight, real candidates like Mitt Romney are being ignored. If the Republican Party knows what's good for them they should keep Palin quiet as much as possible, unless they want to lose the votes of independents and centrists.
