Math HELP! Trigonometry problem...?

Its a problem of the week and it says there's a regular hexagon and a regular octagon each with congruent corresponding sides. The area of the hex is 18.5 sq ft, and the area of the oct is 34 sq ft. The question is, what is the length of all the congruent sides? Can you guys give me an explanation or at least how to get started. Thx.
