I can't stand my friends friend?

I've had this good friend for a year now. I really want to hang on to her since I can talk with her about anything without feeling uneasy. I don't have other friends like her. Always when she has had problems I've done my best to make her feel better no matter what. Anyways there's this guy who, I could say, is like a rival to me. Last night we went drinking and he was in the spotlight all night long. He was dancing with her and making her laugh. I hate to admit I'm stunned about how he was able to do that so well. When I tried to talk with him, like I wouldn't care about the situation, he just ignored me. I just can't stand him anymore. The girl talked with him all the time so I focused on my other friends. The next day she mentioned him on the first time we were talking that day and she haven't never really done that. I really fear the guy might take my place. I know this sounds very naive. What do you think I should do?

I had this situation but with a family member not a friend. My cousin and his wife were pregnant in 2009 and miscarried, a few days later I found out I was pregnant but then miscarried as well, but at first they were upset that I was pregnant. This past Thanksgiving, they announced that they were expecting and they were 12 weeks pregnant. I was 11 weeks pregnant at the time but I still wasn't comfortable telling anyone so my husband and I waited. We waited until New Years Eve when I had made it past 16 weeks. My cousin and his wife weren't there when we made the announcement but we heard that when they found out they were a little less than pleased. Well when I spoke with his wife I saw even she was a little upset about it which I thought was ridiculous. She tried to hide it but you could tell just by the way she acted. Cat is losing weight although he eats well?

My 11YO male cat has been losing weight since January. Blood work done reveals a very healthy animal! He has also been licking fur off and is bald on various parts of his body. He's active, alert, rambunctious...normal...but looks so skinny. Vet has done check up and everything seems normal. He may have a food allergy; vet says if he's not bleeding from the licking of fur we can leave him be...he does not recommend cortisone to relieve. He also urinates occasionally over the side of litter box. Kidneys are good. We have another cat, male. They've been friends for seven years.

What should I do with my alcoholic father ?

My dad is very good at taking the spotlight off his problem and pointing out everyone elses (hes been a drug addict for 30 years as well as alcohol but hes been clean from drugs for awhile for hes on methadone but still drinking). We always get into altercations when he blacks out and points the finger at me when the police are there. All i try to do is love him and have a relationship with him and the only time we are good is when im drinking with him. Now that im pregnant and not drinking i see all the ugly things alcohol is doing to him. I cut him out my life and he went to rehab and only lasted 2 months. he came strait to my house and started being the dad i never had (he's been drinking since before i was born). Unfortunately a week later he went back to drinking hard alcohol and went back to his normal ways. He makes me angry and hes disrespectful. I dont know what else to do for my heart is telling me to be strong and let him know he cant even hear from me unless he's sober which i know wont happen. My mind is telling me to put up with it for i might need him one day. My pride is telling me f-him. Does anybody have any smart suggestions ?? My brothers gave up on him and they tell me he wont last to much longer due to the abuse and im the only one trying to be a good daughter but is it worth it ? or do i just wait until the day hes gone ;(

What are Shin "Splints"/"Splits" and what are some symptoms i should watch for?

A few years ago my first Steady job was security in which i walked a lot on concrete for 8-10 hours daily. after a while i invested in some very good police style duty boots which mitigated that for a time. the best way to surmise the way my shins felt is the feeling you get after your first skiing lesson. the front of the shin hurts a small amount but if you think of it as a hexagon the front left and front right segments hurt when i walk and ache when im not. Recently its been acting up, and i cant think of any reason why apart from daily walking and normal excersise. i have a friend who has what she calls either shin splints or shin splits, she can be hard to understand sometimes as her first language is not English. I first noticed it acting up again a few years ago when i was undergoing Police academy training. it would be the same every day and got to a point where i would have to sit out PT every once in a blue moon. after i graduated and wasnt as active as id like, it seemed to go away. now i do have flat feet but ive never really asked anyone what all these terms mean. Pleco Tank Question!?!?

ok so I have a weird shape tank, it's sort of like 2 hexagon tanks that are 45cm straight across connected by two 20cm tubes that are 3 inches diameter.now knowing the size of my tank do you think that two bristlenose plecos (1 normal and 1 albino) would be ok if i put 1 piece of driftwood in each side because I've heard that plecos like to eat driftwood and I was thinking that 2 pieces would mean that their would be 1 pleco on each side of my tank meaning that they would not be territorial. also there are a few neon tetras and a few zebra danios if that makes any difference

I write this question in fairness as I have wrote many times my plea for Catholics to examine their faith in that salvation is in Christ Alone, not the church or meritous works or by praying TO Mary, etc. But do you think you are heading to the "wide gate" as Jesus explained? The narrow one is one where "few" will find it, not billions he said but a "few". So ask yourself this question and then respond also in fairness. Because like you, I was Catholic, and rested on the notion of tradition and so many in this faith, but examine it according to scripture, the OT and NT thoroughly it was revealed to me this faith can only be the wide gate. Do you not agree that Christ alone is your means to salvation? No intercessors needed, no purgatory, just Christ and in Him alone? I need Dwarf Puffer fish help!?

I just recently purchased a 5 gal hexagon tank and am interested in dwarf puffers. Would it be better to have 2 in the tank for company or do they like to be alone? I purchased a cave with plants attached, a coral reef and some green leaves(all fake) since I have heard they like interesting environments. Also, I have read that they are extremely sensitive to the water quality. I have had fish before but since it is a new tank, any suggestions? I really would rather not buy cheap fish to cycle the tank faster, I will feel bad if they do die :( Thanks in advance!

Do I have OCD and is there something wrong with me?

I have been thinking that i have had OCD for quite a while. For a few years now I have noticed some symptoms that may be associated with OCD. In particular in the last year I received a mac book from my school. On the mac book when pressing the command key and the space bar it opens a quick spotlight option. Once I found out I could do this without affecting what I was working on I started tapping it, obsessively. I tapped the space bar while holding both command keys next to it. When I was typing in school or at home I would tap it after finishing a sentence or paragraph. It just became this thing that I did. I really don't know how to describe it, it sounds silly when typing this. This didn't hinder my work in anyway but it made a loud noise that nobody mentioned at home, I pressed the space bar hard and tapped it many many times trying to make it feel right but it never really did. This was accompanied by pressing hard and swiping my hand across the clicker looking for the same feeling. I also would type, delete, and re-type letters, especially 'e' and I think 'c', I think the girl who sat next to me in computer class noticed after I did it about 10 times. I would also highlight and re-highlight the words on a web page (in the past sentence I just typed, deleted and re-typed the letter 'd' and 'c'). I would also tap other key combinations such as the command+tab shortcut which switches applications. I noticed that my symptoms were directly related with how emotional I was or how much stress I am under. Since the summer started I haven't shown many of the symptoms mentioned above, partly because of the stress-free environment of summer and mostly (I think) because I don't have the mac book any more. This was all in the past year (my first year of high-school). Before this I would visualize lining up telephone poles that I saw through the windows of our car and in restaurants. My mother noticed that I would move around in my seat lining things up outside from my perspective. I also played a game in the car where I would line up the tops of the telephone poles (with the antenna-like tops with the wires) with the blue visor at the top of our windshield (this is hard to explain also). I've always suspected this was a game though. I don't do either of these things anymore. Nowadays I will roam around the house tapping the walls and tabletops and assorted bed stands that I walk by. Sometimes I with tap the first digits of my fingers (on the inside) with some force on the top of a table or a wall. When I get medicine out of the medicine cabinet I will repeatedly touch the door and close it because it doesn't close all the way and this bothers me. I also collect useless junk. I have pieces of paper and lint that I don't want to throw away for some reason. I just collect this stuff. When the top cloth layer of the inside sole of my right shoe came out my mother wanted to throw it away but I insisted that I keep it. This also includes the clippings of my jeans that were tearing off at the bottom. Luckily I have thrown both of these pathetic items away. During the summer after 8th grade I decided to go through and throw out all of my papers from that year. Most kids say they are ready to burn their binders but I wanted to horde mine and all of the papers inside. I wanted to keep all of those papers with my A+'s on them. I thought that one day I would need them to show to someone how smart I am. I ended up throwing them away. We kept them in a brown bag that was ready to be thrown out. My mother said she would throw them away in the morning. I had a mini-panic attack that evening and I think I convinced my mother to keep them for a month or two. They're gone now. I don't know if the rest of this is related or not but here it goes; When making a decision I can usually say yes or no. But like this one time my sister and her two friends were going out with my mother and they asked me whether I wanted to come along. I initially refused but then I sat in my chair for a bit while they went out to the car. I racked my brain trying to make a decision whether I wanted to go or not. I was and still am convinced that I need to be impulsive and take those seemingly minor decisions like going with my sister and her friends. I grabbed my shoes and socks and ran out the door before they left with a quick, "I'm going too!" to my dad. I ran to the car barefoot as they were about to pull away. I was convinced I would meet someone and I would have a "book moment" (I hope you know what I mean). This also happened today when deciding whether to go walking with my dad, I also walked in complete silence with him, wondering whether I should talk about how I handled him wanted to show how to use a gun and being a "wimp" a few years ago. I am hoping someone can tell me the title of a book matching this description: I read this short novel in 2010 and I believe it was a fairly recent release. It revolved around a family in the aftermath of a home invasion; if my memory serves me, the person who broke into their home was a drug addict. The women fled upstairs, I believe the brother possibly to the basement (and he was ashamed of this), and the father tried to ward the invader off but suffered some kind of heart attack, I think. The family consisted of, at minimum, a brother and sister, husband and wife. The plot revealed the nature of the home invasion in bits and pieces, but focused on what they experienced psychologically and as a family after the fact. One prominent sub-plot was the sister's romantic involvement with a college boy, and the story arc creshendoed when she had a panic attack in his car and he left her on the side of a highway. Just watched the movie 21 and there is that one scene where the professor sets up a word problem. He says that there are three doors two of which have goats behind them and one has a car. The student picks door 1 (at this point it is a 1/3 chance of a car). The professor then opens door 3 and says that there is a goat behind it. He then asks whether the student wants to stick with door one or change to door two. The student then decides to switch to door two because he claims that there is a 2/3 chance that the car is behind that door. WHY? When did it change from a 1/3 probability. I mean I understand the concept that door three being opened and revealing a goat changes the chances of the remaining two doors to 50/50 but how does it change the door that the student first picked to a 1/3 chance of being right and the second door into a 2/3 chance of being right. Can stammering be treated?

I have been stammering since i was a kid ( i'm guessing 10 or 11). I always avoid public speaking, and any activity that will put in the spotlight. My parents know about this ( I think I got it from my dad because he stutters and so did his late dad). I am almost 20yrs old and sometimes this makes me sad because during job interviews it get worse, I also avoid classes at my university that involves presentations because i feel i'm going to embarrass myself. my mum says its a phase but i dont think so coz im getting old and i see no improvement. whenever I get nervous and really tensed up it becomes so bad like i cant say anything. can stammering be treated ? and can it be heritable ? if it can be treated where can I get help?

Yet ANOTHER problem with an Apple Macbook that needs fixing?

So, I go to play runescape, browser based mmorpg. Apple locks up. Have to force shut down three times in less than half an hour. Needless to say it pisses me off. Then I notice at one point that spotlight says it's indexing (whatever the hell that is). I then installed the latest versions of itunes, apple os X and something else on the system update. Anytime I click on anything now, finder, spotlight, anything in the dock, I get beachball of doom. Spotlight went from estimated waiting time (for index) of 3 minutes to over 3 hours. It obviously isn't doing jack diddly squat. I tried to get into preferences, but the mac locks up. Is there anything I can do short of throwing this waste of money at Steve Jobs feet? I changed the permissions on my MacBook Pro and lost an important document-HELP!!!?

To begin, I have a very important literature project for school over the summer, and have been working very hard on it. Yesterday, I was very happy because I was almost finished with it. I knew I would be working on it later, so I saved it a few times (I'm cautious) and shrunk it down so that it sat on the right hand side of my main homescreen menu bar. Same as usual. Well, I went to the Apple store a few hours later to figure out why I had used all my computer's memory. The assistant was very nice and explained I needed a backup hard drive, which is what I expected. While he was searching through my computer, he went to the "Permissions" area and had the permissions checked. Apparently things were all out of whack and this arranged them back in order. When he finished, he turned my computer off. When I realized I had still had my reading report shrunken down, I didn't worry too much because I know for positive it has been saved, today and several times earlier that week. When I got home, I turned my computer back on, and everything was same as normal. I went to Pages to open up my document, and IT IS GONE. I have no idea where it went-I checked in "My Documents" my user files, in spotlight, in finder, in my recent activity-EVERYTHING. Any other documents i've ever made are still there, it's just this one, particular document that is missing. How can I get it back? I don't have enough time to redo the project! PLEASE help me! Cracked and flakey toenail, won't grow?

Hi guys, I've had this problem for a while and I am finally sick of dealing with this toenail and want help. I have always worn toenail polish, so my toenails aren't in the best of shape. Some of them are cracked, but they all grow. I have this one toenail (second toe in) that won't grow. It is cracked side to side in multiple areas, and it doesn't grow straight forward, almost inward. It's not ingrown and there is no pain, it is just bizarre and ugly. When I attempt to trim it, it merely peels off layers and reveals bright white, flakey layers beneath it. I am unsure what to do because I am unsure what is going on. If someone could give me some suggestions, that would be great. Thank you!

My fish tank got dirty out of three days or so?

I recently purchased a Tetra 1 Gallon Hexagon fish tank from WalMart with 4 small fish,the WalMart pet-area worker recommended those fish for such a small tank. I bought the AquaSafe and filters but it seems its not doing anything. My younger sister feeds the fish 2-3 times a day (after all its her graduation present for passing kindergarden) But I have no clue what to do, do I start all over and place them in little bags like the movie Nemo and personally clean the tank? Is my boyfriend cheating or about to cheat?

My boyfriend recently went on a medical research trip to Connecticut. And of course like most relationships distance always creates a little tension and can make one another uncomfortable and insecure at times.Today my boyfriend told me that about a week ago this girl was flirting with him and brought up being friends with benefits...i was upset about this for one because he told me a week later and another because he entertained her conversation. He also revealed to me that many girls have been looking at him in attractive ways. And now that we're having tension in our relationship he wants to see more what these girls are about as he told me. He wants to see if these females are willing to give him more than i've given. And from the beginning of our relationship to know i've had issues with guys and some of them trying to get back into my life and some males that didnt want to leave. Thank God I finally got rid of them.There were also times where I fell back on my word but fixed them and made a mends.But he still holds my past against me no matter what I do. I dont have any one to look and see if he's doing any bad or good because i live in Virginia.I've changed some and i am still changing my old ways to knew ways to make our relationship better. My problem is that he wasnt tired to hang out with someone he barely knows but didnt have the two seconds to send me a text on his way back to his room or while he was hanging out or even call after the work out? Hi, I'm hypoglycemic with an anxiety disorder, and what helps me is instead of eating, drinking juice (from like jumba juice) that has a lot of good things in it to keep me going, which helps with the crashes. Practice deep breathing and also try and deal with your anxiety directly! the juice is a fix when you can't eat, but the anxiety is the root issue here. Journal or write, watch something funny, and calm yourself down when you know you're about to be in a situation that makes you anxious. hope this helps xx

well why dont you save up just a Little bit and go and get some nice clothes!! they don't have to be designer, and read mags to get outfit tips, I used to have a confidence issue but there was a time a couple of months ago where I had to face loads of things that I was scared of and suddenly I'm really confident!!! I am so surprised at how confident I am!!! i have a semester project I have to do, my workload is high it seems, anyway one of the many things I have to do is create financial documents which I have no idea what they should consist of. The class is a computer class and the main goal is to show you know how to create different documents using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Powerpoint. This document must be made in Excel. I am sure I can make all documents required, but sadly I don't know what a lot of them should contain and google searching has revealed no details as far as I can see as to this document.
